Today I had the chance to meet 2 amazing people: Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil and Miroslava Duma who used to be the Editor of Harper's Bazaar Russia and is a huge muse to street style photographers (She is so gorgeous in real life! Better than pictures times 100!) I was more excited to meet Tommy as I've been a fan of his work for years, he's such an amazing photographer and in person he is the sweetest and such a cutey! He was so shy, but I managed to chit chat with him for a while and promised him a proper tour of Dubai next time he's in town as he had to leave tonight. Love him!!!

Fashionable Food: Mezzaluna at Emirates Palace

When I was in Abu Dhabi around 2 weeks ago we were invited to the Italian restaurant in Emirates Palace called Mezzaluna. It's not the best Italian restaurant I've been to honestly but the food was pretty good. First, let me tell you about the delicious bread basket they bring in the beginning. My friend Mona and I couldn't stop eating the different types of bread in that basket with EVOO, so yummy! Then the mozzarella with basil and tomato came, that was everyone's favorite part I think because all the plates went back empty.

The pasta with lobster and asparagus was also delicious but lets talk about the main dishes: The lamb chops with crispy covering and mashed potato was to die for! Seriously if you are a meat lover this is the dish for you. The salmon according to my friend was not so amazing. Finally, the dessert: Tiramisu. I think that was the worst Tiramisu I've had in my life. It came with a side of frozen coffee and also coffee jello. I don't recommend it.

Fashionable Food: Moroccan Food at The Moroccan Village

If you follow me on Twitter you would've noticed that I love to dine out and whenever Global Village opens I have to go and eat at the Moroccan Village because they make amazing Moroccan food (better than the other Moroccan restaurant I talked about previously in FF).

I always tell my friends if they really want good Moroccan food they should go to the little restaurant in the Moroccan Village at GV. The food is pretty delicious and then you get to drink Moroccan tea and walk around the MV and check out some traditional clothes, ceramics and amazing furniture. It's a lovely experience and I never miss out on it every year since I discovered this place. Make sure to go in a big group so you can share the different yummy dishes like the Chicken Pastilla, Dajaj bl Zaytoon with French Fries, Lamb Couscous, Barqooq, and end it with the mouth watering desserts like Kaab ElGhazal with some Moroccan tea.

DIY: Earring Pendants

This is a veeeeery simple DIY as you can see. Sometimes I want more from my earrings than just being earrings so I thought I could turn them into pendants and wear them as a necklace. It turned out great. You can get one piece of any earrings you like (Have to be clip on earrings) and insert it into a necklace.

DIY: The Lion Choker Belt

One of the things I got from the Versace for H&M collection is the Lion choker. I didn't get it to wear it as a choker actually (it's too much for me!) I immediately had an idea of turning it into a vintage Versace inspired belt! It looks way better than being a choker. It's very simple and you can do it with other chunky necklaces or chokers, so just follow the steps below:

You need - Versace for H&M Lion choker, wide black ribbon, safety pin.

Wrap one side of the ribbon on the side of the choker with the holes.

Use a safety pin to secure the ribbon in place - you can also knot it instead.

Pull the other side of the ribbon around the buckle and then make a tight knot depending on how tight you want the belt to be whether you are going to use it as a waist belt or just below the waist.

Viola! Here goes a better version of the choker. It's very vintage Versace - love it!

This is what I wore to the Poca and Poca Christmas event at Ritz Carlton last week to view the limited edition "Merry Christmas" Collection which was so cute!!! I have to say I really love Poca and Poca, it's one of my favorite Dubai based brands. I was looking for this skirt everywhere (you know how I love 50s inspired skirts!) then I called up Maison Sez in Abu Dhabi and they had a last piece in my size and offered to deliver it on the same day, it arrived at my house in Dubai within 2 hours which makes me love Maison Sez even more!

Thai Privilege Spa

I was recently invited to the Nabrman event at the Thai Privilege Spa in Jumeira Dubai for a back and neck massage. It was a little different from the Spas I usually go to. The ambiance was very soothing and you can feel you're actually in Thailand. In the waiting room you get to drink your war ginger tea (my favorite part about Spas!) Then you are taken to a little place where they wash your feet and then upstairs to your massage room. The different thing is the massage bed was on the floor, interesting I must say, I felt the Masseuse had an easier time maneuvering around. The massage was pretty good, but I always advice my friends to go for a Hot Stone massage when going to the Spa, I think it's the best type of massage.

Styling at Etoile La Boutique

I was invited to Etoile La Boutique at MOE as a special guest to style the models for the event at the boutique. There were 3 looks: Gala dinner, Cocktails, and Afternoon tea.

"Gala dinner" look

For this look I chose a gorgeous metallic Ingie dress and styled it with statement earrings, a little black croc clutch and red lips!

"Cocktails" look

The cocktail dresses sections had lovely items but only one really stood out, this beautiful pearl piece by Valentino. Since the dress already had lovely details I decided to go without accessories, just a little clutch and golden Valentino heels.

"Afternoon tea" look

I love this skirt by Rochas! I styled it with a pussy bow black satin top, nude pumps, and a breath taking Alaia clutch.

Fashionable Food: Hakkasan

If you follow me on Twitter you would know that I was a bit disappointed with Hakkasan's main courses today. Obviously the Abu Dhabi branch is much better but the newly opened branch in Dubai has it's positivities.

First, the drinks were pretty delicious, non-alcoholic "Hakka" (if you're a passion fruit lover this is the drink for you!)

Next time I'm going to Hakkasan I'll definitely be ordering more of those crispy tiger prawns - yum!

Fried dumplings, also very delicious!

Steamed dumplings - I would say mediocre.

Now I come to the disappointing part of Hakkasan Dubai - the main dishes.

Charcoal grilled Silver Cod with Chinese honey

I didn't like this dish one bit, although my friend liked it. I think the yellow sauce was the bad part of this dish.

I'm in love with red meat, I love Wagyu beef and I always give it a try in different restaurants but this is not the best I've had.

Steamed Red Snapper - this was the only main dish I liked. Very tasty. It has lady fingers with it.

I'm not sure which Duck this was (there are around 4 types on the menu) but this was pretty good.

The best part of Hakkasan Abu Dhabi is the dessert, and Hakkasan Dubai did not meet those standards.

Please note that I do not hate Hakkasan! I just simply think the Abu Dhabi Hakkasan is better (Obviously the Chef is better) but the restaurant is gorgeous and definitely worth a try. Next time I will be ordering different dishes perhaps I'll rate the place higher.

A Day of Pampering at Tilia & Finn

I was invited to Tilia & Finn at Mirdiff City Center to try out some of their services and of course any girl would say yes to that. I got upper eye lash extensions, manicure & pedicure, curled my hair, and an upper body massage. I was supposed to get a facial but we didn't want to risk the lash extensions to fall off. I absolutely loved the place, I promise not because they invited me, but honestly it's pretty amazing. I think my favorite service was the eye lash extensions. Read the reviews below.

Manicure & Pedicure - I really wanted to try this brand "butter" not only because it's butter :P but also because it's the first time I ever heard of organic nail polish. So I picked this gold shade "the full monty". I love it!

Upper eye lash extensions - This was pretty amazing. I've never had eye lash extensions before (as you can see in the before I don't really need it) but I was curious to try it out and see what all the buzz is about. Basically it makes your lashes look thicker and longer. You don't need to use mascara. FYI she only applied on the outer corners of my upper lashes, the inner corners and lower lashes have no extensions. I"ve been told it can last up to 3 weeks if you don't use mascara and if you don't wash the lashes very hard. It took around 30 minutes, but if you want to apply the extensions on all the upper and lower lashes it will take around 2 hours. It's a painless procedure, you can just lie there and sleep.

Upper body massage - Since I've been doing plenty of hard core strength work outs this week my muscles have been aching and I needed a massage badly. I was very relaxed afterwards and my shoulders felt so much better.

So the other day I was invited to check out the Manolo Blahnik AW11 collection which recently arrived to the store at The Dubai Mall and I was so excited to picture everything in store (including the classic collections) and show you guys. When I see Manolo Blahnik I think of classy shoes, Carrie Bradshaw, and Sex & The City. I think, like Louboutins, every woman should own a pair of Manolos. To me a shoe closet is just incomplete with out Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin shoes.

I was one of those people Googling "Kim and Kris Kaftan Dubai" trying to find out the brand or designer behind those gorgeous dresses! Then finally I found Marena Y Sol by designer Miriam Rahali who gave those kaftans to both Kris & Kim. I love both but I ordered the one Kris is wearing called "Catalina". I think it makes a perfect outfit for house gatherings. Miriam also makes kaftans for the beach and swim wear. Fashionable Food: La Petite Maison

My favorite restaurant in Dubai is La Petite Maison not only because French Cuisine is my favorite but because it's the only restaurant that satisfies the foodie in me 100%. I go there a lot, it's so much fun and it's a very busy restaurant because it's known for it's delicious food (so make sure to make reservations prior, otherwise it will take you ages to get a table).

Tomatoes and Lemon on the table, for you to cut up and eat! Sometimes people refuse to do that but I always do.

The very popular LPM appetizer "Burrata et Tomates" I seriously know people that only go there to order this appetizer, it's that good. I don't like dairy, but this Burrata is irresistible plus the Basil leaves and cherry tomatoes make it more desirable for me.

"Salade de Haricots Verts au Foie Gras" or French beans with Foie Gras. I love Foie Gras so when ever I'm in a French restaurant I always order it but nothing beats LPM Foie Gras. The Chef actually refuses to serve it if it wasn't as perfect as he wants it to be, so sometimes you have to wait a while until he changes his mind. The French are very serious about their Foie Gras!

"Calamars Frits" - YUM!

"Entrecote Grillee" with Frites. Yes, this Entrecote is heavenly. Served with French Mustard and chopped onions.

"Loup de Mer en Croute de Sel" Very healthy and delicious dish.

Dessert "Creme Brulee a la Vanille" This is the best Creme Brulee I've ever had. No restaurant can beat LPM's Creme Brulee.

Fashionable Food: Gelato

Gelato is one of the oldest restaurants located on Sheikh Zayed Road-Dubai. I remember dining in it around 6 years ago and I loved their Italian food so I decided to visit it again. It's not very crowded and there's outside seating (perfect for this amazing weather!).

As usual in any Italian restaurant the fresh hot bread is served with extra virgin olive oil & vinegar; but in Gelato they added a little scoop of this buttery-garlic paste which was so delicious!

For our main dishes we ordered Tortellini Cin Pollo E Salsa Al Fungi & Penne Rigate al Tonno with Arabiatta extra spicy sauce. Both were extremely delicious!

Finally, you can't leave Gelato without trying their Gelato :D! They've got a huge variety of yummy ice-cream flavors.

Fashionable Food: Amala at Zabeel Saray

I've been hearing a lot of good reviews about Zabeel Saray so I decided to give it a visit. There are 6 restaurants but I ended up choosing the Indian one since I am crazy for spicy food. It's a Northern Indian restaurant so there were some new dishes I never tried before.

The starters were not a big deal but the main meal was amazing. I wanted Chicken Tikka Masala which is my favorite dish but they didn't have it, so they got me Butter chicken and made it extra spicy. It was delicious! HERE is the menu for you.

Frankly, I still favor India Palace over all the Indian restaurants out there. But the thing about Amala is the amazing view and with this beautiful weather you will really enjoy your time out with friends or family.

I honestly had to do a separate post for this collection before posting SS12 Shoes: Part 2. Miu Miu SS12 shoes, one word: FAIL.

After wowing me and most of us in the AW11 collection -and most of the previous collections- I am beyond shocked by this recent collection.

The shoes look so tacky, maybe some think otherwise but I can't seem to change my mind about them. I'm very disappointed!

BOW Bloggers SS12 Campaign

One of my favorite brands based in Dubai, Bow by designer Amanda Gedeon, brought together some of the prominent Dubai fashion bloggers to be featured in the Bow SS12 campaign. The collection is very girly and cute so Amanda went for a playful photo shoot filled with balloons, outdoor picnics, winks and kisses! The photo shoot took place in the beautiful backyard of my favorite vintage boutique in Dubai, Bambah. It was so much fun! I love the collection, the cream shirt with the sleeve slits is definitely my favorite item.

Darmaki SS12 at Bullets & Butterflies

One of my favorite Boutiques in Dubai, Bullets & Butterflies, unveiled Darmaki SS12 collection last Tuesday. We were very impressed with the new collection, personally I loved the Ottoman line the most because I am in love with embroidery and tassels especially that it was hand made by the woman who also worked on Alexander McQueen embroidery. The colorful variety of suede is beautiful as well.

Many of you asked if Darmaki would consider making flats; this season he did and they are gorgeous and one of my favorites in the collection but my most favorite is definitely "Dahab" shoes.

Unfortunately, my camera ran out of charge midway so I couldn't picture more close ups of the shoes but you can spot most of them in the first picture. The Petal "Calla" in fuschia suede is hot!

DIY: Donut Bun With Korean Bun Maker

I think most women like to bun their hair sometimes. I have tried the bun sponge but didn't like the result as much as I like the result with the Korean Bun Maker. Here's how you do it:

1: Tie your hair in a high pony tail (or low, whatever you think looks better on you).

2. Get the large Korean Bun Maker (if you have long hair-the small one works for short hair) and insert your pony tail inside the middle hole, then close the hole tightly so that little strands won't slip out.

3. Pull the Korean Bun Maker all the way to the end of your pony tail and then start rolling it around (like Sushi making!) until you reach the top of your pony tail.

4. Twist it downwards and viola! you've got your donut bun. You may need to secure it with bobby pins.

Where can you find a Korean Bun Maker?

Dark Circles and Volumizing Shampoo

I get a lot of products sent to me but I rarely share the results or feedback with you guys so here's something worth reading especially since I get tons of questions regarding hair care.

As women, there are 2 things we don't like to mess with: our face and our hair. I'm very picky with face and hair products, I don't like to treat them as "Guinea pigs" and use a multitude of products so I just stick to a minimal. As I said, I get lots of products sent to me and frankly those are the only 2 products that I tried and now 100% love and can't stop using:

1. POND's age miracle dual eye-therapy UV cream

Sometimes I get dark circles so I usually use the Olay dermapods which my beauty guru Huda told me about, I love them but they are not a "quick fix" you can only use them 3 times a week as per directions. They are great and I always use them but sometimes I want a quick fix so at that time I go for the POND's eye cream. Oh my God, I don't know how to express my amazement towards this cream. It's perfect for dark circles! you can use it every day and what I like most about it is that it has this shimmery bluish-whitish thing that acts like a concealer but it truly just reflects the light and makes your dark circles glow right away. I LOVE it!

2. TRESemme anti hair fall shampoo

Previously, I used to use Pantene, but now I'm only using this Tresemme shampoo. I take very good care of my hair, as everyone should! and I felt this shampoo really gave my hair more volume and FYI- Vitamin B12 is the most helpful vitamin for hair - which is one of the ingredients of this shampoo. Another great side of it is that it smells really good.

Fashionable Food: 101 at The One & Only - The Palm

I went to 101 at One & Only - The Palm the other day for dinner and it was great. The cuisine is Mediterranean with a wide variety of Tapas. My favorite part was the view, you can literly see all of The Palm surrounding you and the beach is so beautiful. With this amazing weather, you can walk there from the hotel instead of taking the golf carts.

My favorite dishes were the Tapas. So delicious! you can select any Tapas, hot or cold; and if you're not feeling like having a main meal, you can just order a bunch of Tapas.

Then came the main dishes.

Slow Cooked Beef Cheek. Very soft, literally melts in your mouth before you get to chew it.

Veal 'alla Milanese' with Tigliatelle pasta and fries. This dish was so delicious!

Dessert:

Chocolate Tart with 'Dulce de leche" - order this with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream = YUM!

Many are so excited about this collaboration, obviously me too because Versace is one of my favorite brands. I already have like 4 pieces on my mind that I want to get, but I certainly hope this time it won't be so unprofessional and hectic - since the Lanvin for H&M in Dubai Mall was so bad! It literally did not matter whether you came early and stood in the beginning of the line. Once they opened the doors they told everyone to run inside so there was a human stampede! I sincerely hope this time there will be order and whoever gets there earliest gets to shop first.

Versace's era with Gianni was amazing. He brought so much glamour to the 80s and 90s. I love Donatella as well but Gianni gave the brand Versace something very unique! I feel the latest collections are very much inspired by Gianni's style. They remind me of the late 80s-early 90s phase with gold accessories. My Jackie O Mannequin at Bambah Boutique

Here's my mannequin that I styled for the Jackie O competition at my favorite vintage boutique in Dubai, Bambah. I was looking for the signature Jackie hat but it was already being used by a couple other mannequins so I opted for the big black hat and went for a Monochrome look.
